Liverpool coach Arne Slot used the statement made by Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the Reds' star, to mock Manchester City, before facing Newcastle on Wednesday, in the English Premier League.
Salah hinted at his departure from the "Red" club after Liverpool's recent victory over Manchester City 2-0 in the English Premier League, saying that he wanted to enjoy the match because it might be his last at Anfield against the "Citizens".
Salah, 32, finds himself at the center of increasing speculation about his future as he approaches the last six months of his contract, and has not yet agreed with the "Reds" on the terms of extending his contract.
Regarding this statement, Arne Slot said, Tuesday, in the press conference preceding the Reds' upcoming match against Newcastle: "Maybe Salah knows more about the 115 charges against Manchester City, so he expects that they will not be in the English Premier League next season.. It was just a joke!"
The Dutch coach added: "I repeat.. What I said was just a joke."
Manchester City are facing a legal battle with the English Football Association over Financial Fair Play rules.
