French Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe broke his silence after Real Madrid's loss to Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday in the Spanish Football League. Real Madrid suffered its second defeat this season in La Liga, losing 1-2 to Athletic Bilbao, yesterday, Wednesday, in the 19th round, at the Basque team's stronghold, "San Mames" stadium.
Bilbao scored the winning goal in the final minutes of the match, and the overall match was close, however, Real Madrid had a chance to score a goal earlier in the match after defender Rudiger was awarded a penalty kick that Kylian Mbappe wasted in the same way he wasted the penalty kick against Liverpool in the Champions League, during the match that the Merengue lost (0-2). Both penalties wee saved by the goalkeeper.
Mbappe published a message on Instagram through a "Story" on his personal account with a caption platform: "Bad result. A big mistake in a match where every detail is important. I take full responsibility." The French star added: "It is a difficult moment, but it is the right time to change the situation and show everyone who I am."
Mbappe has not performed as expected since joining Real Madrid at the beginning of the current season, coming from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. Mbappe played 19 matches for the Spanish giant, scoring 10 goals and making two assists.
