Egyptian Mohamed Salah broke into a historic list in the Champions League after leading his team Liverpool to a 1-0 victory over host Girona in the sixth round of the league stage of the continental competition yesterday, Tuesday. Salah scored Liverpool's winning goal over Girona from a penalty kick in the 63rd minute.
The Egyptian star raised his tally of goals in the Champions League to 50 goals. According to Statsroom, Salah rose to tenth place in the list of the best historical scorers in the Champions League, which is topped by Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo with 141 goals.
Liverpool raised its tally to 18 points with a full mark at the top of the overall standings in the Champions League, while Girona's tally stopped at three points in 30th place.
With this victory, the English team practically guaranteed its qualification for the round of 16 in the most important European tournament regardless of the results it will achieve in the last two rounds.
