Italy's Juventus deepened Manchester City's wounds by beating them 2-0 on Wednesday in Turin in the sixth round of the Champions League. Serbian Dusan Vlahovic (53) and American Winston McKennie (69) scored the goals. The loss is City's seventh in the last 10 matches in various competitions. Juventus raised its score to 11 points in thirteenth place, compared to only 8 for Manchester City in twenty-second place.
Caution dominated the course of play in the first half but Serbian forward Vlahovic succeeded in opening the scoring when Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson blocked Federico Gatti's ball, which fell to the Serbian who slotted it in (53), bringing the Serbian's tally to 10 goals in various competitions this season.
The goal is the 22nd to enter Manchester City's goal in his last 10 matches. The 4 time consecutive English champions threw all their weight behind them to equalize, but the best chance they mustered was a powerful shot fired by German Ilkay Gundogan that Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio brilliantly blocked (67).
