Paris Saint-Germain lifts the French Super Cup in Qatar

6 January 2025

Paris Saint-Germain won the French Super Cup title at the expense of Monaco after defeating them by a single goal in the final match that brought them together in the Qatari capital, Doha. The Parisian team owes its victory to its winger, Ousmane Dembele, who scored the only winning goal in the dying moments when the match was breathing its last breaths at the "974" stadium in Doha.

Paris Saint-Germain won the French Super Cup title for the third time in a row and the twelfth time in its history. While Monaco's tally stopped at only two titles, which it won in the years (1961 and 1985) when it was known as the Challenge of Champions.

Paris Saint-Germain played the French Super Cup match as the champion of the local league (Ligue 1) and the French Cup last season. Meanwhile, Monaco participated in the Super Cup final as the runner-up of the league championship.
