Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Real Madrid, commented on the loss of his team in the Spanish Super Cup final, which was held in Saudi Arabia. Real Madrid were defeated by arch rivals, Barcelona, by 5 goals to 2, at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium (the Shining Jewel) in Jeddah, on Sunday.

After the match, Ancelotti said in a press conference: "The match was not good from the beginning, we tried to look for solutions, the loss is painful, I am sad because the match was not in our favor, for our part we tried to come back in the result (after there was a red card for the opponent's goalkeeper), we thought about that and did not think about anything else."

He added: "I said before the match that we had to defend well, but we did not do that, Barcelona deserved to win and they defended better."

"It's a bad night, it's a disappointment, we feel sad like our fans, but that's football, sometimes you can win and sometimes you have to learn from defeat, we have to look forward," the Italian coach continued.

Carlo Ancelotti explained that Kylian Mbappe had a "very good performance", which made him the best player in the team during the match.
