FC Barcelona defeated traditional rivals, Real Madrid, by 5 goals to 2, in a match held at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium (the Shining Jewel) in Jeddah, on Sunday, in the Spanish Super Cup final.
The goals of the "Catalan team" were scored by Rafinha (two goals), Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski and Alejandro Balde, in the 22nd, 36th, 39th, 45+ and 48th minutes of the match.
While Kylian Mbappe and Rodrigo scored the goals of the defending champions team in the 5th and 60th minutes.
With this result, Barcelona won the title of the tournament in its 41st edition, held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the 15th time in the club's history, while Real Madrid's tally froze at 13 titles. Last year's final saw Real Madrid thrash Barcelona by 4 goals to 1, with Vinicius jr scoring a hat trick, however, Barcelona put on an exceptional performance this year to take the title away from Real Madrid.
