Argentine legend Lionel Messi, captain of the MLS club Inter Miami, clashed with the fans of the Mexican Club America on the sidelines of the friendly match between the two teams on Saturday.
Inter Miami achieved a friendly victory at the beginning of its pre season, at the expense of the Mexican Club America on penalties (3-2) in the confrontation that brought the two teams together at dawn on Sunday in preparation for the start of the new season 2025.
Messi scored a goal during the exciting 2-2 draw with a header after a decisive pass from Luis Suarez before Inter Miami won on penalties. After the goal, Messi went to the fans of the Mexican Club America to celebrate in front of them in a controversial manner, as they booed him from the beginning of the match, to which he responded that his country has 3 World Cups, while they do not have any championships, pointing with his hand to the zero mark, which greatly angered the Mexican fans.
After this match, Inter Miami will play four more friendly matches in the next three weeks against Universitario, Sporting San Miguelto, Olimpia and Orlando City, respectively.
