Mohamed Salah has given Liverpool fans hope after hinting that he will renew his contract with the Premier League and Champions League leaders. The 32-year-old Egyptian star spoke to Amazon Prime after beating Lille 2-1 on Tuesday in the Champions League to secure qualification at the top of the standings.
Salah was asked if he was capable of scoring another 50 European goals for Liverpool, and he replied: "I'm not sure about that, but I will do my best." He continued: "I'm very proud of that, especially since we won the match, because that's the most important thing."
Regarding reaching 50 goals with the English club in the continental tournament, he said: "I wasn't focused on that before the match, to be honest."
This statement opens the door for Mo to sign a new contract, in light of the ambiguity surrounding his future with the Reds, and the news that indicated his imminent joining of Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia starting next season. Salah's contract with Liverpool ends in the summer of 2025, noting that he joined the club in 2017 from Roma for 42 million euros.
