Brazilian club Santos announced yesterday, Tuesday, the signing of Brazilian star Neymar da Silva, from Saudi club Al-Hilal. This announcement came after Al-Hilal announced last Monday the termination of its contract with the player, which allowed Neymar to join Santos on a free transfer.
Reports revealed that Neymar will have the honor of wearing the number 10 shirt, which was worn by the late club legend Pele, in honor of the "King's" legacy and his long history with the team. It is noteworthy that Neymar wore the number 11 shirt during his first period with Santos, before moving to Barcelona in the summer of 2013.
Neymar's contract with Santos will last for only 6 months, as the player aspires to return to the European leagues starting next season.
Neymar played for Barcelona at the beginning of his European journey between 2013 and 2017 before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in a record deal worth 222 million euros, and defended its colors for six years from 2017 to 2023.
