Former Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas decided to put an end to the rumors through an official statement, after wild speculations about his love life. Press reports circulated news about Casillas' multiple romantic relationships, as it was rumored that he was linked to Maria Jose Suarez, an adult film star, but both parties denied this information.
There were also other speculations about his relationship with Alisson Ekman, and adu actress Claudia Pavel.
In a statement published on his account on the "X" platform, Casillas said: "Since I was fourteen years old, I have dedicated myself to professional football, a profession that has given me a lot of happiness thanks to the support and love of the fans. However, this attention has led to highlighting aspects of my personal life that I would have preferred to keep away from the media."
"Despite this interest, I have never used my personal life for any financial gain. I have always demanded respect and preferred to stay away from gossip and rumours. I know it is difficult to completely hide my identity, but I want to live a normal life like anyone my age," he added.
He continued: "From time to time, my reputation is questioned and attacked, and my privacy is exploited and turned into a means of entertainment. It is difficult to accept that some people go on programmes to talk about me or those around me, and offensive videos are broadcast. It is not right to exploit my name to gain fame or profit at my expense, or to portray me as a person with a bad reputation."
Casillas explained: "I have reached a point where the situation has become unbearable, and I will not allow any further interference in my private life or any violation of my honour. I do this for myself and for those around me, and I will do everything in my power to protect my private life."
He concluded his statement by saying: "Therefore, I have given instructions that any violation of my privacy or my honour, from any party or by any means, will be legally pursued in the appropriate manner."
It is worth noting that speculation about Casillas' romantic relationships has recently begun to escalate after he was seen with Claudia Pavel on several occasions, the last of which was at an event in Barcelona, where they stayed in the same hotel under the scrutiny of the press and media.
For her part, Pavel commented on her relationship with Casillas during an interview with the De viernes programme, saying: "We have been in a relationship for some time, sometimes it was open because of the distance between us, but at other times we were closer."
She also revealed that their last conversation was intimate, during which they talked about the possibility of having children, as Casillas wants to become a father again.
At the end of the interview, Pavel addressed a message to Casillas through the camera, saying: "I don't understand why you don't respond to my recent messages."
