Egyptian star Mohamed Salah continued his brilliance during Liverpool's match against guests Newcastle United (2-0) that brought them together on Wednesday evening, in the 27th round of the English Premier League. Mohamed Salah assisted the second goal for the "Reds" that was scored by Argentine Alexis Mac Allister in the 63rd minute of the match at "Anfield" stadium.
The Egyptian star thus raised his tally to 17 assists in addition to 25 goals, contributing in total to scoring 42 goals during the current season of the "Premier League", thus equaling his best record in the league that he achieved during the season (2017-2018).
Opta, a website specializing in football statistics, reported that Salah has assisted 17 goals from open play in the English Premier League this season, tightening the noose on former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, who assisted 20 goals during the season (2002-2003). Mohamed Salah (32 years old) sits at the top of the league's scorers with 25 goals, 5 goals ahead of his closest rival, Norwegian star Erling Haaland, Manchester City striker.
