Sky Sports reported that Spanish club Real Madrid is close to completing a deal to sign English right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold from Premier League leaders Liverpool. Alexander-Arnold, 26, will see his contract with Liverpool end next June, and it appears he is already on his way to joining Real Madrid next season on a free transfer.
According to Sky Sports, Real Madrid has reached an agreement with Trent Alexander-Arnold's agent regarding the personal terms of the deal in recent weeks. The network added that the English defender is expected to join the royal team on a five-year contract, starting on July 1.
The network indicated that Trent Alexander-Arnold will receive a salary of €15 million per season, in addition to a signing-on bonus and some performance-related bonuses. This raises the English full-back's salary by €4 million, as he currently earns approximately €11 million annually with Liverpool.
Sky Sports noted that Liverpool's chances of renewing Alexander-Arnold's contract are all but over, and nothing will change the player's mind. It's worth noting that Trent Alexander-Arnold has participated in 39 matches in all competitions this season, scoring three goals and providing seven assists.
