Arsenal beat Fulham 2-1 in their opening match of the 30th round of the English Premier League on Tuesday. Spanish international Mikel Merino scored for the Gunners in the 37th minute, while English winger Bukayo Saka scored the second in the 73rd minute.
Rodrigo Muniz scored Fulham's only goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time. This was Saka's first match back after recovering from a hamstring injury that had kept him out since last December. With this victory, Arsenal moved to second place in the league standings with 61 points, nine points behind leaders Liverpool, who face Everton on Wednesday evening in the same round.
Fulham, meanwhile, remained eighth with 45 points.
