FIFA Reveals New World Rankings for National Teams

FIFA announced the new rankings for national teams on Thursday. Argentina continues to lead the rankings globally, followed by Spain in second place, while France dropped to third.

FIFA confirmed that national teams played 245 international matches globally  since the last release of the men's world rankings. Teams from Africa, Oceania, Asia, and South America participated in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, while European teams were participating in the UEFA Nations League.

At the Arab level, Morocco continued its international success, ranking 12th in the monthly FIFA rankings, placing it at the top of the Arab and African rankings. The Atlas Lions achieved 1,694.24 points, outperforming established teams such as Uruguay, Mexico, and Denmark. The Egyptian national team moved up one place to 32nd globally, up from 33rd in the previous ranking, and second in the Arab world and Africa. The Algerian national team did the same, ranking 36th in the new global ranking, third in the Arab world, after Morocco and Egypt, and fourth in Africa, after Morocco, Senegal, and Egypt.

In Asia, Japan continues to lead the Asian rankings, followed by Iran, South Korea, Australia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq.
