Salah to face West Ham in first match post contract renewal

13 April 2025

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is preparing to lead his team in his first match after renewing his contract against West Ham United today, Sunday, at Anfield, in the 32nd round of the English Premier League. Liverpool announced that Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract with the team until the summer of 2027, ending the speculation surrounding his future in recent months.

Today's match will mark the first appearance of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah with Liverpool after renewing his contract for two seasons, continuing his amazing career at Anfield. The Egyptian Pharaoh currently leads the Premier League's scoring charts, six goals ahead of his closest competitor, Manchester City star Erling Haaland.

If he retains the top scorer title this season, he will become only the second player in Premier League history to win the Golden Boot four times, following French star Thierry Henry, who won it in 2018, 2019, and 2022.

West Ham United is one of Egyptian international Mohamed Salah's favorite opponents. According to Statstriker, a global statistics website, the Pharaoh has played 17 previous matches against the Hammers in the Premier League and League Cup, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists.
