A Spanish newspaper report revealed on Tuesday the punishment facing French star Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid striker, after receiving a direct red card during his team's match against Deportivo Alavés. Mbappé received a direct red card in the 38th minute of the match at Mendizorroza Stadium in Round 31 of La Liga for this violent tackle on Alavés player Antonio Blanco.
Reports circulated indicating a possible four-match suspension for Mbappé, which would have led to him missing the upcoming El Clásico against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final.
However, the Spanish newspaper Marca confirmed that the punishment will be limited to one match. Therefore, the player will miss his team's next match against Athletic Bilbao in La Liga.
Mbappé will therefore be available to face Barcelona in the final scheduled for April 26. The two teams will also meet again in La Liga on May 11 in Round 35 of La Liga.
