Argentine star Lionel Messi saved his team, Inter Miami, from a 3-3 defeat to host Philadelphia Union in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Major League Soccer (MLS) match. Lionel Messi scored his team's second goal in the 87th minute from a free kick, reducing the deficit to one goal (2-3). He then set up the equalizer for his Venezuelan teammate Telasco Segovia in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
"La Pulga" has now scored 11 goals this season, six in the league and five in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, in 17 matches.
The goal was Lionel Messi's 861st career goal and his 45th with Inter Miami.
Inter Miami now sits in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings, seven points behind leaders Philadelphia, who have played one more game.
