Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo is close to extending his contract with Saudi club Al-Nassr, but one clause remains under discussion before the official announcement. Ronaldo's current contract with the club expires at the end of June, allowing him to leave for free during the summer transfer window unless a renewal agreement is reached.
Renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the two parties are reviewing the official documents related to the new contract, indicating that the Portuguese star is ready to continue with the team.
However, Romano clarified via his account on the "X" platform that the only sticking point relates to the contract's duration, which is the issue delaying the official announcement until now.
Previous reports indicated that the new contract would extend for only one additional year, but Romano indicated the possibility of signing a two-year contract if Cristiano so desires.
It is worth noting that Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Manchester United, and has played two seasons with the team so far.
Despite his individual brilliance, Cristiano is still searching for his first official title with Al-Nassr, having only won the Arab Club Champions Cup, an unofficial FIFA title.
