After Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal's historic 4-3 victory over England's Manchester City in the Round of 16, the quarterfinals of the 2025 Club World Cup are beginning to take shape.

The tournament witnessed major surprises, most notably the exit of major clubs in the Round of 16, such as Inter Milan, Benfica, and Flamengo. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal shone to secure a place in the quarterfinals amid fierce competition from major international clubs.

The teams eliminated in the Round of 16: Botafogo, Benfica, Inter Miami, Flamengo, Inter Milan, and Manchester City.

The list of teams that have qualified for the Round of 8 is now almost complete: Palmeiras (Brazil), Chelsea (England), Paris Saint-Germain (France), Bayern Munich (Germany), Fluminense (Brazil), and Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia).

Fans are awaiting the identification of the remaining two teams in the quarter-finals, with Real Madrid vs. Juventus and Borussia Dortmund vs. Monterrey. These matches will complete the final round of 8 teams.

It is worth noting that 32 teams from six continents, along with the host country's champion, participated in the tournament. The teams were selected based on the years of each World Cup edition. The 2025 participants were selected from the champions of 2021-2024, along with the new classification.

The teams were divided into eight groups of four, with only the top two teams advancing to the round of 16.

Starting from the round of 16, a single-match knockout system was adopted, leading up to the final, with the third-place match being abolished.
