Barcelona announced on Monday that Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has extended his contract at Camp Nou by two years, keeping him at the club until 2027. "The Polish goalkeeper has proven that he remains one of the best goalkeepers in European football," Barcelona said on its website.
"The Polish goalkeeper's experience and maturity have been a great asset to coach Hansi Flick in this young Barcelona squad."
Szczesny has been in impressive form since coming out of retirement to replace German Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the Barcelona squad at the start of last season.
In 30 appearances for Barcelona, the 35-year-old goalkeeper kept 14 clean sheets and remained unbeaten in La Liga, with the defending champions finishing the season four points clear of closest challengers Real Madrid.
After winning the domestic treble with Barcelona last season, Szczesny has collected 14 titles during a career that has seen him play more than 500 matches.
