Inter Miami have added another star to their growing roster, securing the loan signing of Argentine midfielder Rodrigo De Paul from Atlético Madrid.

The 31-year-old joins the MLS side on loan until 2025, with an option to make the move permanent through 2029.

De Paul, a key figure in Argentina’s World Cup-winning squad in 2022, will not count as a designated player.

His arrival reunites him with international teammate Lionel Messi, continuing Inter Miami’s ambitious push to bring elite global talent to the club.

“Our goal has always been to build a team that excites and inspires, and Rodrigo is a major part of that vision,” said club co-owner Jorge Mas.

“He’s a proven winner on the international stage whose mentality and ambition reflect what we’re building at Inter Miami.”

The midfielder arrives with a wealth of experience, having played for clubs across Argentina, Spain, and Italy.

Over his career, De Paul has tallied 57 goals and 74 assists in nearly 500 appearances with Racing Club, Valencia, Udinese, and Atlético Madrid.

David Beckham, also a co-owner of the club, praised De Paul’s leadership and influence: “He’s someone I’ve long respected — both for his quality on the pitch and his commitment off it. He’s a true competitor, and we’re proud to welcome another World Cup champion to MLS and to our city.”

Internationally, De Paul has earned 78 caps for Argentina, helping secure not only the 2022 World Cup, but also Copa América titles in 2021 and 2024.

Known for his energy, physicality, and support role alongside Messi, he’s expected to add both grit and creativity to Inter Miami’s midfield.

“Joining Inter Miami is a decision driven by my hunger to win and to leave a legacy at a club that’s clearly on the rise,” De Paul said.

“I want to help build something special here — a team that fans can be proud of for years to come.”
