Egyptian national team and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah expressed his happiness after being named the PFA Player of the Year for the third time in his career. Salah posted photos of his award on his X account, along with the caption: "This very special award hits different when we have an important trophy to go along with. Being champions is what matters, and we will fight to do it again this season. I am incredibly grateful to the players who voted for me."
With this achievement, Salah has become the most decorated player in the PFA's history, having won it three times, surpassing several other great stars in Premier League history, including Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
Salah first won the award in his first season with Liverpool in 2017-2018, after finishing as the Premier League's top scorer with 32 goals.
The second time came in the 2021-22 season, which was not a great season for Liverpool, who lost the league title to Manchester City and the Champions League final to Real Madrid. However, Salah shone on an individual level, sharing the Premier League's top scorer spot with 23 goals alongside South Korean Son Heung-min.
