Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji denied reports linking him with a move to Turkish club Galatasaray during the current summer transfer window in a funny way on social media. Akanji commented on a post reports published by transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano regarding his future with Manchester City and Galatasaray's interest in signing him.
Romano wrote on his X account: "Galatasaray is close to reaching an agreement with Manchester City regarding the permanent transfer of Manuel Akanji." He continued: "The deal value of £15 million has been agreed upon, pending final details."
Akanji commented on Romano's post, saying: "I don't know anything about that," indicating that he had not received an official offer yet. Romano later clarified that the agreement was concluded between the two clubs only, and that no direct contact had yet been made with the player.
The Italian expert added, "After the agreement between the two clubs, Galatasaray will submit its offer to Manuel Akanji within 24 hours." He continued, "No offer has been made to the player yet, and there are currently no indications from Akanji that he intends to accept the offer. An agreement has been reached between the two clubs, but an agreement with the player has not yet been reached."
