Arsenal completes seventh summer signing

Arsenal completes seventh summer signing

25 August 2025

Arsenal Football Club has officially announced the signing of English midfielder Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace in a deal that could be worth up to £68 million.

The England international signed a four-year contract with Arsenal and will wear the number 10 shirt. Eze completed his dream move to his boyhood club, Arsenal, becoming the club's seventh signing of the summer, with a total budget of £250 million.

Tottenham were on the verge of signing Eze after reaching an agreement with Crystal Palace last Wednesday, until Arsenal, led by Spanish manager Mikel Arteta, snatched the deal. Tottenham had refused to activate Eze's £68 million release clause with Palace, which expired on the opening day of the Premier League season.

This bold move by Arsenal recalled the controversial transfer of former Tottenham captain Sol Campbell to the Gunners on a free transfer in 2001.
