Barcelona has confirmed that Spanish international defender Alejandro Balde has sustained an injury that will keep him out of action for a while.
An official statement posted by Barcelona on its Facebook page read: "Defender Alejandro Balde suffered a slight injury to his left hamstring during today's training session. His availability will depend on how he progresses."
This injury comes at a relatively favorable time for Barcelona, as the team will not return to competition until Sunday, September 14, when they face Valencia in La Liga.
The club will have to wait to see if Balde recovers in time to participate in the Valencia match, or if coach Flick will resort to other options such as Gerard Martin or promising young player Joffre Torrentes.
