Egyptian star Mohamed Salah bid farewell to his former Liverpool teammate Harvey Elliott with a touching message, as he recently moved to Aston Villa to embark on a new adventure in his career.
Aston Villa signed Elliott, 22, on loan, with a clause to making him permanent transfer at a later date for £35 million.
The deal also included a buy-back clause, as well as a percentage of any future sale of the player.
Following the transfer, Salah posted photos of himself and Elliott on his Instagram account, saying:
You’ll be remembered for your loyalty and dedication every time you were called upon. You leave as a champion, and I’ve got no doubt you’ll do big things at your new club. They are lucky to have you.
This message expresses the sportsmanship and mutual respect between two teammates who have both contributed to Liverpool’s journey, and cements Salah’s position as a moral leader on and off the pitch.
