Mikel Merino produced a stunning performance with a hat-trick as Spain thrashed Turkey in their World Cup qualifier.
The Arsenal midfielder struck twice in the first half before completing his treble with a sensational goal on 57 minutes, curling in from distance after being set up by Lamine Yamal.
Merino’s form in 2025 has been remarkable — six goals in as many international games, compared to just two in his first 31 caps.
Pedri added a brace, while Ferran Torres also found the net in Konya, with Mikel Oyarzabal pulling the strings in attack by assisting three of the goals, including both of Merino’s early strikes.
The emphatic win leaves Spain with two victories from two in Group E, while Turkey and Georgia trail behind on three points each.
