Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has included two new players in his squad for the first time this season in the team's upcoming visit to Real Oviedo on Thursday evening, the final matchday of the sixth round of the Spanish League LaLiga.
Promising midfielder Drew Fernandez, who participated in the preseason tour, and young goalkeeper Eder Aller have joined the squad. Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde continue to be sidelined due to their failure to recover from injuries, while midfielder Gavi will undergo surgery that will keep him out until February 2026.
The Catalan squad includes 22 players:
Goalkeepers: Juan Garcia, Szczesny, Eder Aller.
Defenders: Araujo, Coparsi, Christensen, Gerard Martin, Kounde, Eric Garcia, Joffrey Torrent.
Midfielders: Pedri, Casado, Olmo, Frenkie de Jong, Bernal, Drew Fernandez.
Attack: Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, Raphinha, Rashford, Ronnie Bardaghi, and Alex Fernandes.
It's worth noting that last season's title holders, Barcelona, are second in the standings with 13 points, ahead of third-placed Villarreal on goal difference, while newly promoted Oviedo are in 18th place with three points.
