Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia defeated Sharjah of the UAE 3-0 in their match on Tuesday evening, as part of the fourth round of the AFC Champions League. The Saudi team's goals were scored by Steven Bergwijn (Dutch), Karim Benzema (France), and Roger Fernandes (Portugal) in the 8th, 66th, and 90th minutes, respectively.
This victory marks Al-Ittihad's second consecutive win, following their 4-1 victory over Al-Shorta of Iraq in the previous round. They had suffered two consecutive defeats against Emirati clubs Al-Wahda (1-2) and Shabab Al-Ahli (0-1), respectively, and currently sit in sixth place in the West Zone standings.
Meanwhile, Sharjah suffered their second defeat, after a win and a draw, leaving them with four points and dropping them to eighth place in the standings.
