Stoke manager Mark Robins signs new long-term deal as promotion push gathers momentum

Stoke City have reinforced their commitment to manager Mark Robins, confirming the 55-year-old has signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract as he continues to guide the club’s resurgence in the Championship.

Robins, appointed on New Year’s Day, successfully steered Stoke away from relegation danger last season. This campaign, he has transformed the Potters into genuine promotion contenders, with the club currently sitting third in the Championship, just two points off the automatic promotion positions after 15 matches.

Stoke had climbed to second prior to the international break but slipped after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Coventry City—a loss made more symbolic as it came against Robins’ former club, now led by Frank Lampard.

The club also confirmed that members of Robins’ backroom team—Paul Nevin, James Rowberry, Ryan Shawcross and Darren Behcet—have all agreed new contracts, ensuring stability across the coaching structure.

Potters chairman John Coates praised Robins’ impact, saying:

“It has been clear during his short time here that Mark is the right fit for Stoke City. The progress on the pitch has been extremely encouraging, our players are responding superbly to the coaching group, and it has been great to see our supporters even more energised over the past year.”

Robins expressed both pride and long-term commitment as he continues to lead the club toward a potential Premier League return for the first time since 2018:

“I’m hugely proud to be Stoke City manager and fully committed to the long-term process of building a successful future for this club. We know there will be challenges as well as enjoyable moments, but we are in it for the long haul.”

Stoke’s renewed faith in Robins underscores their ambition to complete a sustained climb back to the top flight.
