Crystal Palace Cruise Past Wolves

Crystal Palace Cruise Past Wolves

Crystal Palace continued their impressive rise under Oliver Glasner, climbing into the Premier League’s top four with a commanding 2-0 win at Molineux - spoiling Rob Edwards’ first match as Wolves manager.

Second-half goals from Daniel Muñoz and Yeremy Pino sealed a deserved victory for the Eagles, who looked sharper, more organised, and far more confident than their bottom-placed hosts.

Palace in Control

Jean-Philippe Mateta should have put Palace ahead before the break when he rolled a one-on-one wide, and Wolves survived a penalty scare when Ismaila Sarr appeared to be tripped on the edge of the box by David Moller Wolfe.

But Palace’s dominance eventually told. Muñoz reacted quickest to fire home from close range, before Pino curled in a superb strike from the edge of the area just six minutes later - his first Premier League goal.

Wolves’ best chance fell to substitute Jhon Arias, who somehow poked wide from two yards, summing up their lack of cutting edge.

Wolves’ Woes Deepen

Edwards, appointed this month after arriving from Middlesbrough, faces a monumental survival task.

Wolves remain winless in the league, their last top-flight victory coming back in April.

This is now their worst start since 1983-84, and they edge closer to matching Sheffield United’s unwanted Premier League record of 17 games without a win from the start of a season.

They sit bottom on just two points - nine from safety - with back-to-back derbies against Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest looming.

The early optimism inside Molineux faded quickly, replaced by the familiar frustration of a team lacking quality and belief.

Palace Look the Real Deal

Glasner’s impact continues to grow.

After delivering the club’s first major trophy with last season’s FA Cup triumph and guiding Palace into Europe, he now has them firmly in the Champions League conversation.

Calm, organised, and assured, Palace looked a level above Wolves throughout.

Muñoz shone at both ends of the pitch, and the Eagles’ composure never wavered, even in a hostile away setting.

Only Arsenal have lost fewer matches this season, and with the table so tight - just four points separating fourth and 12th - Palace look well equipped to stay among the league’s elite.

Harder challenges lie ahead, but this was the performance of a side with staying power - and serious ambition.
