Norwegian striker Alexander Sørloth led his team, Atletico Madrid, to a 2-0 victory over visiting Real Oviedo in the 14th round of the Spanish La Liga. Sørloth scored Atletico Madrid's first goal in the 16th minute after receiving a pass from his teammate David Hanko on the left wing.
In the 26th minute, Sørloth returned to score his second goal and his team's second, after advancing with the ball into the visitors' penalty area and placing it into the net.
Atletico continued their positive run, achieving their fifth victory in their last five matches, and also securing their 11th consecutive home win in all competitions.
Atletico Madrid raised their points tally to 31, temporarily sharing second place in the La Liga standings with their city rivals, Real Madrid, who play their match later today, Sunday, against Girona. Barcelona currently leads the standings with 34 points. On the other hand, Real Oviedo's points tally remained frozen at nine, leaving them in last place (twentieth).
