Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi grabbed a dramatic winner at Craven Cottage, sealing a 2–1 victory over Fulham and pushing Oliver Glasner’s side into the Premier League’s top four.
The match appeared destined to end level after an open, well-contested encounter in west London.
But with three minutes of normal time left, Guehi rose highest at a corner and powered in a decisive header, giving Palace consecutive away wins.
Eddie Nketiah had fired Palace ahead midway through the first half with a confident finish, but Fulham equalised seven minutes before the break when Harry Wilson curled in a brilliant effort after combining neatly with Alex Iwobi.
Fulham thought they had completed a late turnaround of their own when Emile Smith Rowe tucked in a rebound after Iwobi’s header hit the bar.
However, the celebrations were cut short by an offside in the buildup, with Samuel Chukwueze adjudged narrowly ahead of play.
The defeat is Fulham’s second this week following their nine-goal thriller against Manchester City and leaves Marco Silva’s team sitting in 15th, only four points above the relegation zone.
Palace, meanwhile, continue to navigate the difficult balance of domestic fixtures and European commitments - and remain firmly in the race for Champions League qualification.
Oliver Glasner has been outspoken about the club’s lack of investment after the £60m sale of Eberechi Eze, and with injuries to key players such as Ismaila Sarr and Daniel Muñoz, Palace entered the match stretched once again.
Nketiah, handed his first Premier League start of the season, took his chance well with a tidy opening goal.
But as the second half wore on, Palace struggled to convert their pressure into a second breakthrough.
Mateta fired wide, Pino tested Bernd Leno, and Uche was inches from scoring before the decisive corner arrived.
Guehi - whose long-term future remains uncertain with Liverpool and Newcastle monitoring his contract situation - once again underlined his value.
Not only has he been pivotal to a defensive unit bettered only by Arsenal this season, but he has now contributed to goals in consecutive matches, assisting Muñoz in midweek before delivering the winner here.
For all Glasner’s complaints about limited transfer activity, keeping hold of Guehi may prove just as crucial as any potential signing.
Fulham showed against Manchester City that they can fight back from harsh positions, but breaking down one of the league’s most disciplined defences was always a tougher task.
Wilson’s equaliser - a lovely give-and-go with Iwobi followed by a curling outside-of-the-boot finish - was the high point of their performance.
Calvin Bassey impressed in midfield and Fulham created several half-chances, but Palace’s organisation restricted them to few clear openings.
The disallowed effort from Smith Rowe was their closest moment to a winner, but yet another narrow defeat leaves Silva’s team looking anxiously over their shoulders.
Unless they find consistency soon, Fulham risk being pulled into the relegation fight.
