Spurs Probe Bissouma Over New Nitrous Oxide Footage

Tottenham Hotspur have launched an internal review following claims that midfielder Yves Bissouma was filmed inhaling nitrous oxide.

The Sun released video footage it says appears to show the 29-year-old Mali international using the substance, commonly known as laughing gas or NOS. Spurs confirmed they are aware of the allegation.

“We are looking into the events, and the situation will be handled privately within the club,” a Tottenham spokesperson told BBC Sport.

Bissouma, who joined Spurs from Brighton for £30m in 2022, previously received a club-issued one-match suspension in 2023 after he was photographed using nitrous oxide. At the time, he apologised and admitted to a “serious lapse in judgement.”

Recreational possession of nitrous oxide has been illegal in the UK since 2023, carrying a maximum penalty of two years in prison.

Bissouma’s future at Tottenham remains uncertain, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. He has yet to feature under manager Thomas Frank, who took charge in June.

The midfielder was omitted from the squad for the UEFA Super Cup clash with Paris Saint-Germain in August due to repeated lateness and has since battled ankle and knee issues.
