West Ham United have completed the loan signing of defender Estelle Cascarino from Juventus until the end of the season, marking the first addition under new manager Rita Guarino.
The France international has made 49 appearances for the Italian giants but is reported to have submitted a transfer request earlier this month, despite having 18 months remaining on her contract in Turin. The move offers Cascarino an opportunity for regular football and a fresh challenge in the Women’s Super League.
Speaking after completing the switch, the 28-year-old highlighted both the stature of the club and her motivation for the move. “I’m really pleased to be joining. I know West Ham is a big club in England and I’m excited to be part of this project,” she said.
Cascarino brings significant experience at elite level, having previously represented Paris St-Germain, Bordeaux, Paris FC and Lyon, as well as spending a six-month loan spell at Manchester United in 2023, where she made two appearances.
Describing her playing profile, Cascarino added: “I’m a technical player who is aggressive in my defending. I’m here to bring my leadership and experience to help the team on and off the pitch.”
Her arrival strengthens West Ham’s defensive options and aligns with Guarino’s early efforts to add experience and tactical intelligence to the squad. “I’m proud of what I’ve achieved so far in my career,” Cascarino concluded, “and I’m looking forward to this next chapter at West Ham, in the best league in the world.”
