Bayern confirm talks to extend Kane’s contract

Bayern Munich have confirmed they are in discussions with Harry Kane over a potential contract extension, underlining the club’s long-term commitment to their talismanic striker.

Sporting director Max Eberl revealed on Monday that talks are ongoing with the England captain, whose current deal runs until 2027 following his move from Tottenham in 2023.

“We’re talking to Harry, we’re talking,” Eberl said at a Bundesliga event in Frankfurt. “Everyone knows that at some point a decision has to be made.”

Bayern chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen echoed that sentiment, stressing there is no urgency from either side. “Harry has great confidence in us and he feels comfortable in Munich,” Dreesen said. “He and his family are settled in. Therefore, there’s absolutely no reason for us to rush.”

Kane’s integration into Bayern has been seamless, both on and off the pitch. After spending much of his career without major silverware, the 32-year-old ended that wait in 2025 by winning the Bundesliga, further strengthening his bond with the club.

On the field, Bayern’s dominance this season provides additional context to the extension talks. The Bavarians hold an eight-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga and sit second in the 36-team Champions League league phase, reinforcing their status among Europe’s elite.

Kane has previously indicated his openness to a longer stay, saying in October that he could “definitely imagine” extending his time in Germany.

His numbers strongly support Bayern’s desire to secure his future. Kane has registered 119 goals and 30 assists in 126 appearances for the club. This season alone, he has scored 34 goals in 30 matches, including 21 in 19 Bundesliga games. At that pace, he is on course to challenge — and potentially surpass — Robert Lewandowski’s single-season Bundesliga record of 41 goals set in 2020-21.

From Bayern’s perspective, extending Kane’s contract would not only safeguard a generational goalscorer but also signal continuity and stability at the heart of their sporting project.
