Ahmed Abdel Aziz El-Bambi, the grandfather of Egyptian international star Mohamed Salah, winger for Liverpool FC, passed away this morning, Monday, according to local Egyptian press reports.
The news was announced by Abdel Aziz El-Bambi, the deceased's son, Mohamed Salah's uncle, and chairman of the board of the Mohamed Salah Youth Center, who expressed his deep sorrow and asked everyone to pray for mercy and forgiveness for the deceased.The funeral prayer is scheduled to take place at the Musa Al-Kabir Mosque in the village of Nagrig, with the participation of residents and villagers. The burial will follow immediately after the prayer.
It is not yet known whether Mohamed Salah will be able to attend the funeral, especially given his participation with his team, Liverpool, in their recent match against Manchester City in the English Premier League on Sunday evening.
