Barcelona hold talks over Haaland clause, Manchester United scout Fernandes, Newcastle track Camara

Barcelona have reportedly opened discussions with Manchester City in an attempt to secure first refusal on Norway striker Erling Haaland, 25, should the prolific forward become available for transfer in the future.

However, Haaland’s representative Rafaela Pimenta has played down the speculation linking the striker with a move to the Spanish giants during a recent appearance on Spanish television.

Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, 25, has emerged as a potential midfield target for Manchester United, with the club including the Italy international on its shortlist of possible reinforcements.

United have also been monitoring Mateus Fernandes, the 21-year-old Portuguese midfielder currently at West Ham United, who could seek a move this summer should the London side suffer relegation.

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp may step away from his role as global head of soccer at Red Bull GmbH and return to the dugout as Germany head coach following the World Cup.

Newcastle United are also expected to pursue a new striker this summer despite having spent £124 million strengthening the position last year. The club are also keeping tabs on Said El Mala, the 19-year-old winger currently with 1. FC Köln and Germany’s Under-21 side.

In midfield, Newcastle have intensified their interest in Lamine Camara, the highly rated 22-year-old Senegal international playing for AS Monaco.

Veteran defender Kieran Trippier, 35, could still be offered a new contract at St James’ Park, particularly as Arsenal continue to show interest in fellow English full-back Tino Livramento, 23.

Elsewhere, Juventus are among the clubs exploring a move for veteran Poland striker Robert Lewandowski, 37, whose contract with Barcelona is set to expire this summer.

Sources close to Liverpool have dismissed speculation suggesting Germany international Florian Wirtz, 22, could be sold to Real Madrid after just one season at Anfield.

Former Everton and Burnley manager Sean Dyche is being considered as a possible replacement for Igor Tudor as interim boss of Tottenham Hotspur.

However, Dyche is believed to be reluctant to accept the role without assurances beyond the end of the current season. Former Tottenham players Robbie Keane and Ryan Mason are also considered potential candidates.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are prepared to sell Argentina forward Julian Alvarez, 26, to a Premier League club for a fee of around £85 million, although they are unwilling to sanction a move to Barcelona.

Finally, Inter Milan could allow Italy internationals Alessandro Bastoni, 26, and Nicolo Barella, 29, to depart this summer should suitable offers arrive for the duo.
