Fulham Fight Back to Keep European Dreams Alive

Fulham reignited their push for European football with a spirited comeback victory over struggling Burnley at Craven Cottage.

The match had been largely uneventful until the hour mark, when Burnley broke the deadlock.

Zian Flemming calmly finished from close range after a well-delivered cross by Lyle Foster, giving the visitors a deserved lead.

However, Fulham responded swiftly, turning the game on its head with two goals in just six minutes.

Nineteen-year-old Josh King brought the hosts level with his first Premier League goal after Martin Dubravka failed to deal with a hopeful delivery into the box from Sander Berge.

Moments later, Harry Wilson put Fulham ahead in style, cutting in from the right before drilling a precise left-footed shot into the bottom corner - his 10th league goal of the season.

The victory was sealed late on when substitute Raul Jimenez converted from the penalty spot after Josh Laurent was sent off for bringing him down.

The result lifts Fulham into eighth place on 44 points, strengthening their European ambitions, while Burnley remain deep in trouble in 19th, nine points from safety.

Fulham Analysis: Confidence Returns at the Right Time

Coming into the match, Fulham had struggled for goals, failing to score in their previous three outings.

When they fell behind, it looked like another frustrating evening was on the cards.

But young King’s energy from midfield proved decisive.

His equaliser not only shifted momentum but also lifted the entire team’s intensity.

Fulham’s passing became sharper, their movement more purposeful, and once Wilson added the second, they rarely looked threatened.

Manager Marco Silva will now be focused on ensuring his side finishes the season strongly - an area that proved problematic last year.

Burnley Analysis: Familiar Problems Persist

Burnley showed promise at times, with Flemming involved in several key moments before finally scoring.

However, missed chances and defensive lapses once again proved costly.

Their defensive struggles were evident throughout.

Dubravka’s error gifted Fulham a route back into the game, while Wilson was afforded far too much space to cut inside and shoot.

The sending-off of Laurent - after Jimenez was allowed to run through the heart of the defence - only compounded their issues.

With just one clean sheet in 42 away league matches, Burnley’s frailties at the back continue to undermine their survival hopes.
