Mohamed Salah Causes Big Concern at Liverpool

22 March 2026

Liverpool fans missed Egyptian star Mohamed Salah after their 2-1 loss to Brighton in the 31st round of the English Premier League. Salah missed the match due to an injury sustained during the Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Galatasaray, which fans considered a major reason for the team's lackluster attacking performance against Brighton.

Liverpool's next match is against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals at the Parc des Princes on April 8th, while Anfield will host the return leg on the 14th.

The French network Foot Mercato reported that there is considerable concern within Liverpool regarding the fitness of Mohamed Salah and goalkeeper Alisson Becker and their availability for the match against Paris Saint-Germain next month. They explained that the participation of both Salah and Alisson Becker in the Liverpool-PSG match is doubtful.

The report indicated that Arne Slott did not provide any further details because he is unaware of Salah's condition, and therefore his participation is uncertain until proven otherwise.

Liverpool had qualified for the Champions League quarter-finals after defeating Galatasaray 4-1, setting up a highly anticipated clash with Paris Saint-Germain in April.

The second leg of the Champions League round of 16 saw Mohamed Salah suffer an injury that forced him to leave the field after he had scored one goal, provided an assist, and missed a penalty.
