Teenager Lisa Forrest struck twice in a blistering spell to inspire Glasgow City to a dramatic SWPL Cup final victory over Rangers Women at Fir Park.
The 19-year-old scored two goals in the space of two second-half minutes, securing a 2-1 win and helping Glasgow City lift the trophy for a record-equalling seventh time - their first triumph in the competition in 11 years.
In a tightly contested match, the breakthrough came with just 20 minutes remaining.
Forrest reacted quickest to a corner from Lisa Evans, calmly slotting home to give her side the lead.
Moments later, she doubled the advantage in spectacular fashion, unleashing a powerful strike from outside the box that left Rangers stunned.
Rangers, led by Leanne Crichton, had opportunities earlier in the match to take control.
Kim Shin-Ji struck the crossbar in the first half, while Katie Wilkinson missed a golden chance after a save from Lee Gibson left the goal exposed.
Despite entering the final with confidence - having beaten Glasgow City in the league just days earlier - Rangers were unable to capitalise on their chances.
As heavy rain and hail swept across Fir Park, Rangers pushed for a comeback.
Wilkinson eventually pulled one back with a powerful strike, setting up a tense finale.
However, Glasgow City held firm under pressure to secure the victory and end their long wait for silverware.
The win marks Glasgow City’s first domestic cup success since 2019 and keeps alive their hopes of a domestic treble.
With a Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic Women on the horizon, momentum is firmly on their side as they continue an impressive campaign.
Two-goal Glasgow City hero Forrest: "I am just so buzzing. My team-mates are on at me for not shooting enough and I saw the goal, thought 'let's see what happens' and thankfully it went in.
"It is credit to the full team. I thought it was a really good performance. We weren't happy with the performance last week, so to come here today, it's amazing."
City goalkeeper Gibson, who has now 21 medals: "It is always nice to get silverware and it's a while since we've been able to do that in cup competitions.
"It is great we are in all three competitions. We've got our hands on one and we still have two to go, but we'll enjoy tonight and get back to league action on Wednesday."
