Brentford’s hopes of climbing into sixth place in the Premier League took a hit as they were held to a goalless draw by Fulham - their fifth consecutive stalemate.
A victory would have lifted the Bees above Chelsea and strengthened their push for European qualification, but they were unable to make their chances count in a subdued contest at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Despite Fulham enjoying more possession, Brentford created the better opportunities.
Igor Thiago headed wide early on, while Keane Lewis-Potter fired narrowly over just before half-time.
Chances remained scarce after the break.
Dango Ouattara and Mikkel Damsgaard both failed to test Bernd Leno, while Fulham’s best opportunity fell to Harry Wilson, who dragged his effort wide late on.
Leno proved decisive in stoppage time, producing an excellent save to deny Ouattara from close range and secure a point for the visitors.
Brentford remain seventh with 48 points, while Fulham sit 12th, still within reach but with work to do in the final weeks.
Much of the focus was on Brentford’s in-form striker Igor Thiago, but Fulham managed to keep him largely contained.
The Brazilian, chasing the Golden Boot, was restricted to just a couple of chances and could not make his usual impact.
The Bees created 13 attempts overall but lacked the cutting edge needed to break the deadlock, continuing a run without a win since February.
Fulham will also be disappointed not to offer more going forward.
Despite controlling possession for spells, they failed to register a single shot on target.
Injury to Alex Iwobi disrupted their rhythm, and while Wilson threatened briefly, the visitors struggled to create clear openings.
Ultimately, both sides had to settle for a point - a result that does little to boost either team’s hopes of securing European football next season.
