Moises Caicedo and Willian Pacho Headline Ecuador’s Squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup
Chelsea star Moises Caicedo and newly crowned UEFA Champions League winner Willian Pacho have been named in Ecuador’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as La Tri prepare for their campaign in North America.
The squad, announced on Sunday, also includes defender Piero Hincapie, who featured for Arsenal in Saturday’s Champions League final defeat in Budapest.
Veteran striker Enner Valencia, now 36, has earned a place in Ecuador’s squad for a third World Cup appearance, bringing valuable experience to a team aiming to make a deep run in the tournament.
Ecuador have been drawn in Group E, where they will begin their World Cup journey against Ivory Coast in Philadelphia on June 14. They will then face tournament debutants Curacao in Kansas City on June 20 before taking on Germany in New Jersey on June 25.
Having exited at the group stage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Ecuador will be targeting a place in the knockout rounds this time around.
