Pedro Porro Commits Future to Tottenham With New Long-Term Deal

Tottenham Hotspur have secured the long-term future of Pedro Porro after the Spanish full-back signed a new contract that is expected to keep him at the club until 2031.

The 26-year-old still had two years left on the deal he agreed when Spurs completed his permanent move from Sporting CP in the summer of 2023.

Tottenham initially brought Porro to north London on loan in January 2023 before activating an obligation-to-buy clause worth £40 million later that year.

Since arriving at the club, Porro has become a key figure in Tottenham’s squad, making 152 appearances across all competitions.

Last season, he featured 47 times, more than any other player under head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Sporting director Johan Lange praised the defender’s development and influence, highlighting his rise into one of Europe’s leading full-backs.

“Over the last three and a half years, Pedro has grown tremendously and established himself among the best in his position,” Lange said.

“His upcoming participation in the World Cup with Spain reflects the progress he has made.

“His professionalism, determination and quality embody the standards we want at this club, and we are delighted he has chosen to continue his journey with us.”

De Zerbi also paid tribute to Porro’s attitude and commitment, describing him as a player constantly striving to improve.

“Beyond his technical ability, I admire his mentality,” De Zerbi said.

“Every day he wants to learn, work harder and become better, and those qualities are what help players reach the highest level.

“He has an excellent understanding of the game and brings energy, intensity and character to the team.”

Porro is currently representing Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is expected to be involved when La Roja begin their group-stage campaign against Cape Verde in Atlanta on Monday.
