Real Madrid have strengthened their squad with the signing of Dutch international Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan on a four-year contract.
Although the Spanish giants have not officially disclosed the transfer fee, reports indicate they triggered the 30-year-old's €20 million (£17.1m) release clause to complete the deal.
Dumfries becomes Madrid's fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konate.
The experienced right-back is expected to compete with England international Trent Alexander-Arnold for a place in Jose Mourinho's starting line-up.
The Dutch defender leaves Inter after a successful four-year spell, during which he helped the club secure two Serie A titles and three Coppa Italia trophies following his move from PSV Eindhoven in 2021.
In total, Dumfries made 207 appearances for the Nerazzurri, contributing 27 goals and 28 assists while establishing himself as one of Europe's most effective attacking full-backs.
He also featured for the Netherlands at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, helping his country reach the last 32.
Real Madrid moved quickly to strengthen their defence after ending last season without silverware.
Club president Florentino Perez had pledged to reinforce the back line during his successful re-election campaign, with Mourinho returning for a second spell in charge as Los Blancos look to reclaim major honours.
