Fiorentina have reached an agreement to sign Bournemouth defender Alex Jimenez on a season-long loan, with the Serie A club holding an option to make the move permanent next summer.
The deal includes a €20 million (£17 million) purchase option and allows the 21-year-old Spaniard to continue playing while he remains suspended by Bournemouth.
Jimenez was removed from the Cherries' first-team squad in May after the club launched an investigation into what it described as a "serious matter" involving posts circulating on social media.
The Spanish full-back initially joined Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan before completing a permanent move in February, signing a long-term contract that runs until 2031.
Despite the off-field situation, Jimenez enjoyed an impressive campaign on the pitch, making 32 appearances in all competitions and scoring once for the Premier League side.
A regular for Spain's Under-21 national team, Jimenez will now look to revive his season in Italy as Fiorentina strengthen their squad ahead of the new Serie A campaign, with the option to secure his services permanently at the end of the loan.
