Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare reportedly forced the cancellation of a training session after demanding a move to Fiorentina, with the club rejecting the Serie A side's offer.
Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare reportedly brought a training session to an abrupt end after staging a protest over his future at Molineux.
The 25-year-old Nigeria international is understood to have refused to leave the pitch during Monday's session, demanding the club allow him to complete a move to Fiorentina.
According to BBC Sport, Arokodare's actions prompted new head coach Cesar Peixoto to cancel the remainder of training.
Wolves have turned down Fiorentina's approach for the striker despite accepting an offer from Trabzonspor earlier in the transfer window.
Arokodare was subsequently left out of Wednesday's pre-season friendly against Maidenhead United as uncertainty over his future continues.
The forward later took to social media to defend his professionalism amid reports surrounding the incident.
"Throughout my career, I have always taken great pride in conducting myself professionally and maintaining the highest training standards.
"My commitment has always been to prepare myself as well as possible so that I can contribute to my team-mates and the club whenever I am called upon.
"I remain under contract with Wolves, and my only intention is to fulfil my responsibilities professionally by training, doing my job, and contributing to the team in accordance with that contract."
The latest episode adds to a difficult spell for Arokodare at Wolves.
The striker was disciplined in April following a confrontation with young forward Mateus Mane, and his first season at the club proved disappointing after arriving in a £24 million move from Genk last summer.
Arokodare scored just three Premier League goals as Wolves finished bottom of the table and suffered relegation.
The situation represents one of the first major challenges facing Cesar Peixoto, who was appointed Wolves head coach last month following the surprise departure of Rob Edwards.
The former Gil Vicente manager, who earned one international cap for Portugal during his playing career, has been tasked with guiding Wolves back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
