Defending Premier Sports Cup champions St Mirren face a daunting trip to Rangers after Sunday's draw for the last 16 of the competition.
There are also two all-Premiership clashes, with reigning Scottish champions Celtic travelling to Dundee United in a repeat of last season's beaten finalists' campaign, while Aberdeen will welcome Dundee.
Elsewhere, Kilmarnock host local rivals Ayr United in an eagerly anticipated Ayrshire derby.
One lower-league side is guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals after Championship outfit Dunfermline Athletic were drawn at home against League One side Ross County.
Dunfermline were the final team to secure a place in the knockout stage after Chris Kane's late penalty earned a crucial victory away to St Mirren on Sunday.
The result saw the Pars progress as one of the three best runners-up, edging out Championship rivals Queen's Park.
Although St Mirren still topped their group on goal difference, the defeat cost them a seeded place in the draw, leaving manager Craig McLeish frustrated.
"I'm disappointed because we had the chance to win the group and be one of the seeded sides," McLeish said.
"I thought we were denied a goal, but ultimately we only have ourselves to blame. The draw hasn't been kind to us."
Rangers manager Derek McInnes was pleased to have been handed home advantage, despite acknowledging the challenge posed by the cup holders.
"You're likely to come up against a Premiership team at this stage, so it's always going to be difficult," McInnes told Rangers TV.
"They won the competition last season, so we know what they're capable of. But having the tie at home is something we're grateful for."
Dunfermline manager Neil Lennon also welcomed his side's home draw but warned against underestimating Ross County despite their relegation from the Premiership.
"A home tie is the most important thing," Lennon said.
"Ross County have been outstanding this season after the disappointment of relegation, so we won't be taking anything for granted."
The remaining last-16 fixtures see Hearts host Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Hibernian entertain Partick Thistle, and Motherwell travel to Stenhousemuir.
Aberdeen, Ayr United, Dundee United, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir all qualified as group winners, while Dundee, Dunfermline Athletic and Partick Thistle advanced as runners-up.
Celtic, Hearts, Hibernian, Motherwell and Rangers all entered the competition at this stage after receiving byes due to their involvement in European competitions.
The Premier Sports Cup last-16 ties are scheduled to take place over the weekend of 15-16 August.
