Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of experienced defender Gabby George from Manchester United ahead of the 2026/27 Women's Super League season.
The 29-year-old joins Brighton for an undisclosed fee, understood to be in the six-figure range, after the Seagulls reached an agreement with United. George had one year remaining on her contract after the club activated an extension clause in January.
Seeking more regular first-team football, the versatile defender now becomes the latest addition to Brighton's ambitious summer rebuild under head coach Dario Vidosic.

"Her versatility in defence gives us fantastic options and her technical quality on the ball will help elevate how we want to play.
"She understands what it takes to perform at the highest level in this league week in, week out, and her leadership both on and off the pitch will strengthen our group tremendously.
"We have big ambitions for the season ahead, and adding a player of Gabby's calibre and character is a massive step forward for us."
George made more than 50 appearances during her three-year spell at Manchester United and was part of the squad that lifted the Women's FA Cup in 2024.
Before joining United in 2023, the England international came through Everton's academy, making over 100 appearances for the Merseyside club. She has also earned three senior caps for England, bringing valuable top-flight experience to Brighton's defensive unit.
Brighton have been active in the transfer market this summer, with Switzerland captain Lia Walti and midfielder Emilie Joramo arriving from Hammarby among the club's latest signings.
After finishing seventh in last season's Women's Super League, Brighton will begin their new campaign at home against Arsenal on Sunday, 6 September (12:00 BST).
Meanwhile, Manchester United are searching for a new manager after confirming on Monday that Marc Skinner had left the club by mutual consent.
